Impact of Immers-EXpo 2023: Present And Future Of Mixed Reality Research

On May 19th, 2023, the Oxford X-Reality Hub hosted its fifth annual showcase of immersive technologies at the University of Oxford, highlighting present developments and future directions in mixed reality.

This fifth anniversary edition of the event brought to Oxford industry leaders as well as academics who pioneer the use of such technologies in research. The event featured live demonstrations, stalls, and opportunities to network. Eleven lightning talks given by academic and industry leaders introduced participants to the use of mixed reality technologies in a variety of disciplines including education, medicine, robotics, mental health, environmental studies, cultural heritage, performance arts and more.

The event was organised by the Oxford X-Reality Hub in collaboration with the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub of Jesus College Oxford and was held in their newly unveiled state of the art facility on Cornmarket Street in Oxford.

The event featuring 14 Academic Speakers garnered more than 3000 page views, 144 tickets were sold.
