Title: AR/VR: A practical introduction to building immersive apps with Unity

Details: 14 March 2024, 10am – 1pm

Online (this course will take place online. Those who are not part of the University of Oxford community are welcome to contact us to sign up: oxr@eng.ox.ac.uk).

During this course, participants will be introduced to Unity 3D, one of the most popular game engines for creating immersive experiences, computer games and mobile apps. The course will walk participants through the app development life cycle, exploring the most important building blocks of Unity. Students will learn how to import assets into a scene and interact with them using a user interface (UI) to create a physics simulation. They will then learn how to set up a Virtual Reality scene (without a VR headset). Finally, participants will be introduced to the process of distributing and publishing an app.
